Wallet
Software or hardware that stores private keys and signs blockchain transactions on behalf of the user.
A crypto wallet stores the private keys needed to access and control blockchain addresses. Wallets don't hold currency directly — assets exist on the blockchain; the wallet stores the keys that prove control. Hot wallets (MetaMask, Phantom) are software-based and internet-connected; cold wallets (Ledger, Trezor) keep keys offline. Browser extension wallets are the primary interface for interacting with DeFi and NFT applications.
